The HopeChange GroupThink Mindthoughts Song

Big Brother Approved! (not any more. The original video has been pulled. Enjoy this one while you can).

I'll let Kim Priestap delve into just how creepy and reminiscent of the concerts by kids in totalitarian states this is, and focus on those behind it.

While described as a grassroots effort, Kathy Sawada, who posted the video and can been seen directing the children in the video, is a bit more than just an enthusiastic music teacher you might find in your average public school.

Sawada is a teacher at an elite and expensive Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles as part of the Piano faculty. Colburn just built a $120 million 12-story high-rise addition for their musicians.

Does a concert-quality musician in an elite school in the middle of the most ego-centric city in the United States count as a "grassroots" effort?

Here's a partial list of those who helped produce this "grassroots" effort:

  • Jeff ZuckerAmerican television executive, and President & CEO of NBC Universal Gaffer, Chief Lighting Technician in Boogie Nights.
  • Post-producer (former choreographer?) Holly Shiffer.
  • Motion picture camera operator/steadicam specialist Peter Rosenfeld (appropriately enough, worked in Yes Man, a movie about " a guy challenges himself to say 'yes' to everything for an entire year."
  • Darin Moran, another motion picture industry professional, who just finished filming — how appropriate — Land of the Lost.
  • Andy Blumenthal, Hollywood film editor.

Grassroots all the way, baby

In Hollywoodland, anything is possible.

Update: The wrong entertainment industry Obamaphile named Jeff Zucker was originally credited above. Now corrected.

Update: Kindernacht seems to have been an embarrassment, so the original video has been pulled. IT has been replaced above by a copy... while it lasts.

4 It's good to teach kids early that their hope and happiness are controlled by their glorious leader, not by themselves. When I saw this it brought another video of happy, beautiful kids singing a political song to mind: The Obama Youth Sing! I blame the parents.

17 Indoctrinate the children at an early age and you will have them for life. The teachings of the Catholic Church, Muslims, Totalitarian states, cults, and all mind control zealots with dreams of ruling the masses and imposing his will on them. We have a willing segment of our society who are buying into this and sacrificing their children much like the pagan sacrificial practices of the past. The handwriting is on the wall. Too bad so many have been dumbed down and cannot read it.

26 Venice, Santa Monica, West LA...absolutely the most horrendous socialist place I ever survived living in. Huge money earned by so many for so little work. Hollywood: Conspicuous consumption struggles with lotsa guilt for undeserved moolah. A Bush bumper sticker elicited an egg bath and a spree of key scratches. The land of fruits, nuts, and scary, self-righteous, venomous anger.

27 OMG!! That is horrifying!!! Hey, when I was 10 years old, I and my best friend, Kim, were both campaigning for Nixon to beat McGovern because we both knew he was bad news. But nobody told us what we should think or do...these kids are brainwashed and obviously don't think for themselves. I can't even watch this. After the first minute, I was too ill to continue. It reminds me of Hitler Youth or some other such organization.

Oh I see, he listens to a man talking all the time. Are you in a rush to get home?? Hmmmm, Rush is the man who talks on the radio? I see. Well, why don't you go with Comrade Magda. You won't be having a sweet today.

31 That's Scary! Children should not be used in politicals... but Obama does think his is a religious movement with him as God... Poor kids, elitist Obama. I would love to know how many of those kids grow up to be Republicans.

40 Since Obama started campaigning, I have, over and over again, found myself exclaiming "My God! What kind of person even thinks such a thing, let alone says it?!" The list is far too long to go into here, but this one is absolutely insane and decidedly chilling. Can anyone imagine the explosions in the media if anyone on the right produced a video with cherubic youngsters (standing before the banners of The One, wearing the approved garb of The One) singing, in pseudo gospel style, praises to John McCain? The mere idea is preposterous. Not only would no one think of doing that, McCain would be the first to denounce and stop it. That the left actually thinks such things and produces them is a sobering preview of the utter lack of human decency, restraint and rationality that would be the rule, not the exception, in an administration of he who will lead us to utopia.

41 Makes you think of the milliions Herr Obama got though that project in Chicago with Ayers and parted sweets sums to fellow radicals to start indoctrination "schools" for children. Weather underground types armed by their own goverment to promote subversiveness against it. I wonder who were all the adults in the audience and if there was anyone we would know by name from having "made the news" for some sort of civil disobedience. You sort of are looking to see Ayers rise up from the group clapping gleefully away. Note the "Imagine" printed above the Obama mantras bringing to mind the atheistic marxist song of John Lennon. If I heard right the children spoke of Obama making the world one or as the marxist Lennon song goes, "And the world will live as one". What they don't tell you is it will come through totalitarianism and in fact it never reaches that "brotherhood" as many are killed or disappear who dare speak against the elite "who know better" and like staying in power. These types if they can't get into power through political means will do it through violence or a least try to. Quick change of subject, our US Congress needs reform. They all need 2 term limits and if anyone has exceeded that currently can wave bye bye as their term ends. Secondly, they all must be subject to passed laws past and present. Thirdly all lobbiests are to be made illegal on the hill and any representative or senator found to be receiving "gifts" to pass legislation should be booted off the hill and well as indicted. Fourthly, anyone and I mean EVERYONE seeking office in our goverment should be thoroughly background checked with necessary records revealed to the public. Currently Barack Hussien Obama is stepping around the "metal detectors" and being allowed to do so. Imagine that, pray for that, speak up about that, vote for that. NOBAMA!

48 I am a Frenchman who was born shortly after WWII. This video is repulsive. It reminds me of the videos they used to show us in grade school of Nazi propaganda. These children will grow up to be the Obama Youth and will build concentration camps to kill anyone that does not agree with them. Although it means nothing, because I am not an american, I had supported Obama up until now. This scares me, god help us all.

54 I live in LA and I know people like this who live on the west side, are very liberal, and many are in the entertainment industry. The way the kids sing as if in Sunday school, but about a politician, while the parents watch approvingly, is sad and disturbing. The parents think it is good to indoctrinate their kids with their politics. Kids should not have to worry about politics at this age.

Posted by: MPC at October 02, 2008 09:09 AM (q/Zff)

55 Does no one remember the Hatch Act that forbids public servants to act in a manner that appears to be supporting any political figure in an election? Even if this was not filmed at the school, the teacher recruited and rehearsed the children at their school. A definite ignorance of the public servant position in election times. Not only do I deplore the premise, I also am frightened by this attitude of 'messiah-ness' portrayed by these innocent children. Is this a preview of four years with Senator Obama? What will we look like, as a country, at the end of four years?

Posted by: Jan Seago at October 02, 2008 10:30 AM (SZFBA)

56 When I was a teenager in the fifties, I was shocked and appalled by a newspaper article with an accompanying photo showing people protesting integration in public schools in the south. A pretty young blond girl of about five years of age was holding a sign that said "No N****rs In My School." I felt the use of children in this way was a horrible thing. I have since been disappointed in seeing the children in N Korea, and videos of children in other totalitarion countries singing praises to leaders there. To see this in America is so appalling it should shock the public conscience. While I am sure Obama did not have a hand in producing this, it points to an uncomfortable and disconcerting future under his RULE. I understand he actually posted it to his website until it started backfiring.

57 if anyone is a student of either Art or History, please go look at the sad and very revealing images of jewish children in the Nazi concentration camps by a woman artist by the name of Kaethe Kollwitz. She,a jew, originally was ordered to do propaganda ads for Hitler and his thugs. During this same time she was able to record the horrid images of children and mothers who had no voice,no sing song, being held in these death camps. Thus, she gave these souls a voice that will never ever leave you once you view her drawings. pending death

60 Irose, do you honestly fail to see the stunning similarities between this and the previous use of children by the Nazi's and communists to sing praises to their leaders? Both the children and the imagery chosen and used by this campaign are eerily similar to methods used by Hitler, Stalin and Mao. perhaps it is you, and the blind loyalists to BH Obama, who need a reality check. BTW - mcsame? I didn't see him recruiting a bunch of innocent children to sing his praises...
